Description:
Usually parsley is soaked in a solution of
DMT and then dried and smoked. Typical dose is 75 to 100 mg.
Origin and Medical Uses:
Produced in labs specifically for illicit
drug market. No medical use.
Short Term Effects:
Effects similar to LSD, but lasting only 1 to 4 hours.
Perception intensified, colours appear brighter, objects more sharply defined or
distorted. Possible changes in perception of time and distance. User may feel
his body as light, heavy, or distorted. Thinking and concentration are difficult,
short term memory impaired. Extreme mood swings, including joy, inspiration,
depression, anxiety, terror, and aggression. No known deaths have been directly
caused by overdose, but drug induced confusion has caused accidental deaths.
Long Term Effects:
Insufficient research.
Tolerance and Dependence:
Tolerance to DMT develops very quickly and the user
must abstain for several days for the tolerance to drop so that the desired effect can be
attained again. DMT use also causes cross
tolerance to mescaline, psilocybin and LSD. Chronic users may
become psychologically dependent, but DMT does not cause physical
dependence.
